Integrated. Configured. Comprehensively Tested.
Commissioning
Commissioning includes system integration, configuration, functional testing, and introduction as well as handover with complete documentation.
Commissioning includes system integration, configuration, functional testing, and introduction as well as handover with complete documentation.
Once all components of the building automation and smart system are installed, configured, and interconnected, commissioning can begin.
During commissioning, the Smart Home Setup and the integration and configuration of all other building automation devices take place. Subsequently, all functions are tested.
Before commissioning of the building automation and setup can begin, the following prerequisites, in particular, must be met:
Before Smart Home Swiss begins commissioning, the Wiser or Z-Wave system must be fully installed and configured. Likewise, the network must be operational, and a functioning internet connection must be available. For a door communication system, it must also be fully configured and operational (or this must happen on the same day).
Subsequently, Smart Home Swiss carries out the commissioning step-by-step according to our commissioning checklist.
Commissioning and Integration:
As part of the commissioning, the already installed systems and functions – for example, lighting, heating, shading, room climate, door communication with audio and video, and access control – are merged into a continuous smart living system via Amika.
Subsequently, the individual systems are connected to Amika via their respective interfaces and coordinated. This includes communication via Z-Wave, Wiser K-Bus, LAN, and SIP, as well as the setup of network and cloud connectivity. Finally, all functions are tested in interaction, and the commissioning of each apartment/property is documented.
After the setup or configuration of the other building automation devices, all functions are tested under real operating conditions. This involves communication and functional tests, restarts, and stability checks, as well as the inspection of all integrated components. If everything works, the client is brought in for acceptance.
Finally, Smart Home Swiss hands over the fully commissioned system to the client – usually the electrical installer, and often together with the building owner.
Even after handover, Smart Home Swiss remains the contact for support and remote maintenance, as well as for later adjustments or extensions of the building automation or smart living system.
The duration of commissioning heavily depends on the project size, system scope, and on-site conditions. As a baseline, under ideal circumstances, we estimate approximately 45-60 minutes per apartment. Additionally, for a smaller project, about 8 hours for general cloud setup and around 6 hours for network configuration are required.
These figures are guidelines and assume that all systems are fully installed, configured, and operational. If additional troubleshooting or problem-solving is required during commissioning, the effort may increase accordingly.
No, the client does not have to be present throughout the commissioning. However, it is important that the electrical installer is available and that access to all apartments, technical rooms, and relevant systems is guaranteed at all times. The client is welcome to join for the final handover and acceptance.
Yes, the configuration of Amika, Energio, and Porto can be adjusted even after commissioning. Many settings and adjustments are possible via remote access through the browser-based web management platform “Cockpit”. However, not all functions and malfunctions can be processed or resolved remotely; depending on the cause, an on-site visit by the electrical installer or Smart Home Swiss may be necessary.
After commissioning, additional scenes can be created or existing scenes adjusted at any time. The scenes are automatically synchronized with connected mobile devices and are thus also available there.
The first point of contact for residents or property management in the event of a malfunction of a Smart Home Swiss device is the executing electrical installer, who performs the initial fault analysis and rectifies the malfunction. If the electrical installer cannot proceed alone, they contact Smart Home Swiss SA, which provides second-level support.
