Configuration procedure for using multiple Amika tablets in the same dwelling, with one tablet acting as the Master and the other tablet(s) acting as Secondary tablets.<\/p>

Prerequisites<\/h2>

Before starting the multi-tablet configuration, make sure the installation meets all of the following requirements.<\/p>

  • At least two Amika tablets are available.<\/li>
  • All Amika tablets are installed in the same dwelling.<\/li>
  • All Amika tablets are connected to the same local network.<\/li>
  • The complete dwelling configuration has already been carried out on the tablet that will be used as the Master.<\/li><\/ul>
    \u00a0<\/div>

    Master tablet<\/strong><\/p>

    The Master is the main Amika tablet for the dwelling. It contains the reference configuration and database that will be shared with the Secondary tablet(s).<\/p>

    Secondary tablet<\/strong><\/p>

    A Secondary tablet connects to the Master on the local network and retrieves the dwelling database from it. The interface may also be referred to as the Secondary mode; this is the tablet sometimes described as the \u201cslave\u201d tablet.<\/p><\/blockquote>

    \u00a0<\/div>

    Configuration that must already exist on the Master<\/h3>
    Before enabling multi-tablet mode, complete the normal dwelling configuration on the Master tablet, including:<\/div>
    \u00a0<\/div>
    • Creation and configuration of the rooms.<\/li>
    • Association and configuration of Z-Wave devices, if the installation uses them.<\/li>
    • Connection to the Wiser Gateway in AP mode<\/strong>, if a Wiser Gateway is present.<\/li>
    • Any other devices or scenarios required for the dwelling.<\/li><\/ul>
      \u00a0<\/div>
      Important: The Master must be fully configured before the Secondary tablet(s) are connected. The Master database is the reference database distributed to the Secondary tablet(s). <\/strong><\/div><\/blockquote><\/div>
      \u00a0<\/div>

      Step 1 Open System Settings on Both Amikas<\/h2>

      On the Master tablet and on every tablet that will be configured as Secondary, open Settings, expand System Management, then select System Settings.<\/p>

      Step 2 Open Multi Tablets on Both Amikas<\/h2>

      In System Settings, select Multi tablets. Open this page on both the Master tablet and the Secondary tablet(s).<\/p>

      Step 3 Configure the Master Tablet<\/h2>

      On the Amika that contains the complete dwelling configuration, select Master mode.<\/p>

      Mode<\/b>: Select Master.<\/p>

      Master IP address<\/b>: Leave the displayed address unchanged.<\/p>

      Socket port: <\/b>Leave the default port unchanged.<\/p>

      Number of secondary tablets:<\/b> Enter the number of Secondary Amika tablets that will be connected to this Master.<\/p>

      System ID: <\/b>Enter an identifier for this multi-tablet system. The same ID will be entered on every Secondary tablet belonging to this dwelling.<\/p>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      System ID must be unique on the network.<\/b> If several dwellings in the same building share the same local network and use multi-tablet mode, never reuse the same System ID for two different dwellings.<\/b><\/p>

      When all values are correct, select Validate and reboot. Wait until the Amika has completely restarted before continuing. <\/b><\/p>

      Step 4 Configure the Secondary Tablet<\/h2>

      On the second Amika, select Secondary mode. Repeat this step for each additional Secondary tablet if more than one is used.<\/p>

      Mode: <\/strong>Select Secondary.
      Master IP address: <\/strong>Leave the displayed address unchanged.
      Socket port: <\/strong>Leave the default port unchanged.
      System ID: <\/strong>Enter exactly the same System ID<\/strong> as the one configured on the Master tablet.<\/p>

      Select Validate and reboot, then wait until the Amika has completely restarted.<\/p>

      The System ID is used to associate the Secondary tablet with the correct Master when multiple multi-tablet installations are present on the same network.<\/strong><\/p>

      \u2713 Final Result<\/h2>\n

      After a few minutes, the Secondary Amika should automatically discover the Master on the local network and retrieve the complete dwelling database.<\/p>\n

      Once synchronization is complete, the Secondary tablet can:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Display the rooms and devices configured on the Master.<\/li>\n
      • Control the devices available in the dwelling.<\/li>\n
      • Run the scenarios already configured on the Master tablet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        <\/div>\n

        Configuration complete:<\/strong> the Master remains the reference tablet for the dwelling configuration, while the Secondary tablet(s) use the synchronized database to provide additional control points in the same installation.
        Synchronization issue:<\/strong> if a Secondary tablet loses its connection or synchronization with the Master for any reason, simply restart the Secondary Amika from Settings \u2192 Utilities \u2192 Restart Amika.<\/p>
